Dutch national Anthem mandatory on dutch schools.

Created on Friday, 27 January 2012

The royal orange association of Holland wants to make the first and last refrain of the dutch national anthem mandatory on schools.

Not only the lyrics but also the historical meaning, as said by the chairman Michiel Zonnevylle.
The main point of interest must be the historical meaning, for there are too many children who are asking why the anthem (Wilhelmus) is sung on 4 and 5 of May. They don't seem to realize that people have died while singing this song, according to Zonnevylle.
